ARTIST’S STATEMENT

These are pictures of Spokane made with a plastic toy film camera. With only two settings, the images which result from the toy camera depend on more luck than skill, and echo this provisionality through inconsistent focus and tiny imperfections in the emulsions.

Brittan Hart is a designer, photographer, and bookmaker from Spokane, Washington. She makes prints, which are usually flat, and books, which are usually not. She is passionate about all forms of arts advocacy and education, and especially interested in how publishing can build and support small communities.
