TERRENE
That dirty smell
that rises off my skin
as the hot
water
hits
is a smell I quietly
rejoice
in.
That smell that says
I’ve spent the day
out
there
in the sun,
its warmth flirting with
enticing
my sweat.
That smell that says that flirting
worked.
That smell of
dirt and
sweat and
sun and
water and
body
mingling
communing
reminding me
of life,
dripping
naked
life.

Bryce Becker is a PhD Candidate at UC Berkeley, focusing on the opt-out movement against statewide testing in schools and the role of testing in reproducing colonial ideologies about language, literacy, and knowledge. She is the former co-chief editor of Berkeley Review of Education and former co-managing editor of Berkeley Fiction Review.
KYLIE MEYER
Kylie Meyer (She/Her) is a queer, avant-garde, published photographer. Kylie is currently a Psychology student at UCSC who haphazardly stumbled into digital and film photography.
She is moved by an image’s ability to be both beautiful, yet strange. Kylie often includes nudity in her work because she finds nudity to be elegant and raw, while simultaneously adding tension to her art. As a creative individual, Kylie loves and seeks personal growth and development in everything she does. Her art can be found on Instagram @strangeexposures.

The Greek word autonomy, in its simplest definition, is about a person’s ability to act on their own values and self-interests. Androgyny is a state or expression which blends both masculine and feminine features into an ambiguous form. This photo is an ode to all androgynous individuals for their creative confidence, enduring beauty, and unique individuality.
